My Silly Prediction
January 2026Right now, so much of the focus is on building agentic systems and AI powered products. And of course that's selling.
But I think we're missing a key part of the bigger picture.
For a lot of people, work isn't just about breakthroughs, research, or innovation. It's also about community. Structure. Socialization. Showing up somewhere. Feeling useful.
And if we really do hit the point that Dario Amodei and other frontier AI leaders are predicting, where most code is generated by AI and a meaningful chunk of research becomes AI driven, then the center of gravity of what's sellable, of what's marketable, will shift.
What sells next may not be more AI automation and efficiency.
It will be products that are human centered. Human powered. Human in the loop, not as a compliance checkbox, but as the core value.
Systems that don't just optimize output, but preserve meaning, collaboration, and a sense of participation for humans in the process.
Agentic AI will be everywhere. But the real differentiation may come from how intentionally we keep people in the system. And through that, how we balance our unique and somewhat surreal creativity and individuality in the way we build products.
Think about it. That's the ultimate peak of Maslow's hierarchy. Right now, in this era of capitalization and relentless focus on performance and efficiency, we're probably one step below that peak. This AI era may be what finally pushes us there.
